Collecte MTL

Privacy Policy

Collecte MTL is a free, independent tool with no user accounts. It’s built to collect as little information as possible; this page explains exactly what happens to what you provide.

No accounts, no profiles
There are no accounts, sign-ups, or logins. We don’t build profiles of visitors, and we never sell or share personal information for advertising.
The address you enter
An address is used only to find your collection sector. To do that, it’s sent to public geocoding services — Natural Resources Canada (geo.ca) and OpenStreetMap (via Komoot’s Photon) — to turn it into a map coordinate, which is then matched against the City’s open dataset. Your address and searches are not stored on our servers, not linked to an identity, and not retained after your request is answered.
Analytics
We use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to count visits in aggregate. It sets no cookies, does no cross-site tracking or fingerprinting, and collects no personal data — just anonymous, aggregated counts (e.g. page views).
Using the app through an AI assistant (MCP)
When Collecte MTL is used through an AI assistant such as ChatGPT via our MCP endpoint, requests are stateless: the address or coordinates in a request are used only to answer that request and are not stored. The AI assistant you use is governed by its own provider’s privacy policy.
Third-party services
To deliver results, requests pass through the geocoding providers named above and through our hosting and analytics providers. Each processes data under its own privacy practices. We share only what’s needed to answer a lookup (e.g. the address text sent to a geocoder).
What we don’t collect
No names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment details, or precise device identifiers. We don’t ask you to log in and we don’t need any of that to show a collection schedule.
