Bulky item and construction debris (CRD) collection in Montréal

Enter your address to see what your sector's bulky collection accepts, what it refuses, and which day it runs.

This collection runs year-round. The day, though, depends on your sector.

The most useful thing to know about this collection is what it refuses. In most sectors, upholstered items (mattresses, sofas, armchairs), electronics, and refrigeration or air-conditioning appliances are not taken with bulky waste: mattresses and upholstered furniture go out with regular household garbage, televisions go to an écocentre or an ARPE drop-off point, and fridges and air conditioners go to an écocentre or a free door-to-door pickup you book in advance.

Volume and weight limits also differ from one borough to the next, and the City's page lists them all without telling you which one is yours. The table below shows what the dataset says for each sector; enter your address for the rule that applies where you live.

Frequently asked questions

Is my mattress collected with bulky items?
Usually not. In most sectors mattresses and upholstered furniture must go out with the regular household garbage collection, or be taken to an écocentre. Check your address — the rule is written sector by sector.
Where do I take an old TV or computer?
Not to the curb: electronics are refused from the bulky collection. They go to an écocentre or an ARPE drop-off point.
What about a fridge or air conditioner?
They contain halocarbons and are refused from the bulky collection. Take them to an écocentre, or book a free door-to-door pickup.
Are plastic construction bags accepted?
No. All plastic bags are prohibited as containers, including the ones hardware stores sell as “construction bags”.
